Free QR code photo sharing: what you can test
A free QR and a free event gallery are not the same thing. What you can try without paying, and where the trial stops.

"Free QR code for photo sharing" mixes two products. The first one draws a square from an address you already have. The second one receives guest photos, keeps them, and gives them back to you.
The first is often free, and it is useful. The second has a cost once the room is full, because the files, the gallery, and the export have a price.
What "free" means, depending on the tool
- A QR generator. You paste a link, you get an image. It collects nothing on its own.
- An online album you fill yourself. Fine for publishing. Guests do not always have a simple way to add their files without an account.
- An event page where the guest sends from their phone. That is the one that answers a party. The trial is for testing it. The full night is unlocked.
Be careful with pages that compress hard, expire without telling you, or ask every guest to create an account. The friction shows up as missing photos, even when the tool says zero dollars.
The Komos trial, in plain terms
You can create the event and get a QR with no card. Guests open the page, the gallery works, and so does the live wall if you use it.
The trial caps:
- 15 photos or videos in total.
- A single guest who uploads. The next one is blocked until the event is unlocked.
That is enough for a real test on your phone and on someone else's. It is not enough for a wedding.
Unlocking is 85 CAD, once. After that, for an ordinary party, wedding, or meeting, photos, videos, and guests are no longer capped by the trial. Unusual use (a festival, a stadium) is a separate conversation.
After payment you can download the ZIP of the originals, the A4 PDF sign, and the guestbook export if guests left a message. None of that is held back once it is paid: the files stay exportable.
How to use the trial without a surprise
- Walk the full path: scan, upload, gallery.
- Check an iPhone and an Android.
- Unlock before you print for the whole room, if you know the party will pass 15 files.
- Keep the same link. Unlocking does not force you to reprint.
What not to do
- Promise an unlimited gallery while the trial is still locked.
- Pick a free tool that asks every guest for an account, then wonder why so few photos arrived.
- Wait until the day to discover the cap.
- Treat "the QR is free" and "collecting the whole night is free" as the same sentence.
In summary
Free QR photo sharing, in the sense of a trial, is for checking that guests can send. For the full room, plan the unlock before you print the cards.
The rest of the link, apart from price, is in a QR code for photos. The amount is on pricing: 85 CAD, once. Create an event to run the trial with no card.
