How to follow up with guests after the day
The second wave of photos often arrives the next day. A short message, the right moment, and traps to avoid.

The day brings a first wave of photos. The next day, often a second one, sometimes fuller: people sort, they are calmer, they have time to send what was sitting on the phone.
What you mainly need to do is put the link back in front of them.
In one sentence
Same link, short message, sent the next day, uploads still open. That completes the gallery without turning it into a project.
Why follow up
During the evening, a lot of people think "I will send it tomorrow." Without a reminder, tomorrow becomes never. The phone fills up, the week starts again, and the gesture falls through the cracks.
A message the next day is mostly about making it easy to contribute while the memories are fresh.
Step 1: pick the right moment
The window that works best: the next day, late morning or early afternoon.
Too early (1 a.m.), nobody is free.
Too late (ten days later), the momentum is gone.
Evening that ends very late? Aim for the morning two days after instead. Stay close to the day, without waking people who are still on their way home.
Step 2: one message to copy and paste
Write a short version, then reuse it everywhere (text message, Messenger, email, family group).
Example:
"Thanks for being there. Here is the link to add your photos and videos to the gallery: [link]. Nothing to install. We are leaving uploads open for a few more days."
What helps:
- A thank you, simple tone.
- The direct link, with no hunt for the paper QR.
- A reminder: no app, no account.
- A clear time window.
Step 3: the right channels
You do not need to use all of them. Take the ones where your list is already active.
- An existing family or friends group.
- Email to people close to you, if you have a list.
- A message to the DJ, the photographer, the bridesmaids: they often pass it on better.
- A story or a post, if you are comfortable with that: useful, less precise than a direct message.
One well filled channel is worth more than five half empty ones.
Step 4: keep uploads open
Closing uploads the same evening cuts off the second wave. Leave a few days. You can close later, when the gallery settles, while keeping viewing open so people can still look.
With Komos, the organizer also gets an email the next day to remind them of the link while uploads are still possible.
Step 5: a small targeted follow up if you need one
Gallery still thin after forty eight hours? A second message to key people only (the family table, close friends), not to the whole room.
"We are still missing your photos from [moment]. Same link as yesterday."
Two follow ups at most. Past that, it gets tiring.
What not to do
- Change the link between the day and the follow up.
- Ask for an account or an app in the message.
- Write a ten line wall of text.
- Follow up every day for two weeks.
- Close uploads before you have followed up.
A template ready to copy
Text message or Messenger
"Hi! Link for the photo gallery from [event name]: [link]. Add what you took, photos or videos. Nothing to install. Thanks."
Subject: Photos from [event]
Body: the same message, with the link in plain text (not only a button).
In summary
The best photo is often still on a phone. Your job: put the same link back in front of people, at the right moment, without friction.
Prepare the message before the party. Send it the next day. Leave the door open a little longer. Once the files are in, the export and the copy are in how to collect and keep all the photos after the event. If you want one link for photos and videos, Komos can carry that layer while you look after the guests. Unlocking is on pricing.
